We are Kimberly & Blaine, two lifelong besties, Southern-born creatives, and co-founders of The Karte Blanche Shoppe. 

Our story began in our senior year of high school in the '80's, and even after decades living on opposite coasts, our bond never wavered. We swear we are sisters from another mister!

Today, we’re back home in South Carolina, bringing our shared love of beauty, creativity, and soulful design to life. At The Karte Blanche Shoppe, we believe in the freedom to create without limits. 

Inspired by the meaning of “carte blanche,” our name reflects our passion for reimagining the ordinary into something extraordinary.

We thoughtfully curate and craft one-of-a-kind home decor, vintage finds, original art, and jewelry—each piece with its own story, purpose, and charm. Perfect for the "hard to shop for".

Our History

  • It all started when Kimberly called me "Blaaanche!" (Blanche was the only French name my hs teacher could come up with for Blaine.) 1980's

  • I loved visiting Kimberly in California and here we are celebrating her bday, one month before mine. 1990's

  • Whenever Kimberly visited home, there was always love and laughter. So it was always hard to see her leave (2012). However...

  • In 2019, Kimberly moved back home and today, our creative story continues. (She still calls me "Blaaanche!")
